We know that nursing homes play a vital role in supporting older adults, yet conversations about nursing home care often fall short of communicating the true impact and value of the sector. To address this, the National Center to Reframe Aging, with its research partner FrameWorks Institute, has developed a new approach to improving how we talk about nursing home care. With support from The John A Hartford Foundation, the National Center created strategies to help providers and advocates navigate too often negative public thinking.
Now, you can access these research-backed strategies through this free, on-demand training course tailored for nursing home providers and advocates. Created in partnership with LeadingAge, this training aligns with the principles to reframe aging and LeadingAge's Opening Doors to Aging Services, providing practical tools to enhance communication and bolster perceptions of nursing homes. Promoting positive, accurate views of aging benefits everyone—especially when introduced early in life. The National Center to Reframe Aging hosted the 100th Day of School: Curriculum Toolkit Webinar for Educators to explore age-inclusive, bias-free ways to celebrate this milestone. As part of the webinar, a new toolkit designed to reinforce academic skills while shaping healthy perceptions of aging was released. Review the archive and tools from this event here.
Last year the National Center to Reframe Aging brought together thought leaders, national experts, federal representatives, and community leaders for transformative conversations about advancing a more equitable and complete story of aging in America. We’re excited to announce that the Summit archive is now available opening access to the archived videos, resources, presenter spotlights, and more! We hope the archive inspires you to reflect on your role in reframing aging and sparks meaningful conversations within your networks. Together, we can transform the way our society thinks about aging and create more age-inclusive communities. Check out the archive here.
